In plain words: RKji stores your tasks using Apple’s on-device and iCloud services. Personal tasks are private. A task is shared only when you place it in a family list and invite people to that list. RK Everyday Apps does not sell your information or use advertising trackers.
Who this policy covers
This policy describes how RKji Tasks handles information when you use the iPhone app. “RKji,” “we,” and “us” refer to RK Everyday Apps.
Information RKji handles
RKji may store information you choose to enter, including:
- Task names, notes, types, due dates, reminder choices, completion status, and repeat schedules.
- Birthday dates and an optional birth year.
- Shopping-item names, optional store names, schedules, and purchase history.
- A contact name and phone number when you attach a contact to a task or birthday.
- Your chosen family display name and activity such as who created, updated, or completed a shared item.
- Names and short badges you choose for shared family lists.
RKji does not require you to create an RK Everyday Apps account.
Where information is stored
RKji uses Apple Core Data and CloudKit. Personal tasks are stored in your private app data and synchronized through your Apple iCloud account when iCloud is available. Shared family-list information is stored through Apple’s CloudKit sharing system.
RK Everyday Apps does not operate a separate server that receives your saved task records and cannot directly view those records.
Microphone and speech recognition
Voice entry is optional. If you use it, RKji requests microphone and speech-recognition permission. Apple’s speech-recognition service may process the words you speak according to your device settings and Apple’s policies. You can type tasks instead.
Contacts and phone calls
Choosing a contact is optional. RKji uses Apple’s contact picker so you can select a person and phone number for a task. RKji stores the selected name and number with that task; it does not upload your address book to RK Everyday Apps. Tapping Call asks the iPhone to place the call.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, RKji schedules task reminders on your device. Notification text may include the task name, due time, and notes, and may therefore appear on your lock screen depending on your iPhone settings. You can turn notifications off in iPhone Settings.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The current version of RKji does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell your information.
Retention and deletion
Your task information remains until you delete the task, recurring schedule, or shared family list, or otherwise remove the data through your device or iCloud account. Deleting a shared family list removes that list and its tasks for participants as described by the app’s confirmation message. Apple may retain information through iCloud or device backups according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies.
You can revoke microphone, speech-recognition, Contacts, or notification permission in iPhone Settings. Some related features will stop working when permission is removed.
Security
RKji relies on Apple’s iOS and iCloud security features. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your device, Apple Account, and invitations protected.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when RKji’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top will identify the latest version.
Questions
For privacy questions or comments, use the RKji Tasks support form. Do not include private task information unless it is necessary to explain your question.
